Emma Coffin

Emma has a broad corporate-commercial litigation practice, with experience in shareholder disputes and securities litigation. 

Prior to joining Allen / McMillan, Emma worked at a regional firm in downtown Vancouver on a wide range of litigation cases, including shareholder disputes, and appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia.

During law school, Emma volunteered as Clinic Head with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, an organization which provides legal advice to low-income clients. She was also Project Leader of the Access Pro Bono Civil Chambers Project and provided support to volunteer lawyers who provide pro bono legal assistance to unrepresented low- and modest-income litigants appearing in civil chambers. She was also an Advocacy Volunteer with the University of British Columbia Alma Mater Society and assisted students who were involved in disciplinary proceedings. She currently volunteers with Access Pro Bono Roster Program.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys skiing, reading pretentious novels, and cooking. She also enjoys rock climbing, locally and abroad, including in the Canary Islands and the Andes. Emma has traveled to 33 different countries, including solo backpacking trips to countries such as Bulgaria, Malta, and Argentina. She also worked in a hostel in Turkey.  Emma is the Director of Operations of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival.
